Excuse me while I type incoherently at you out of glee.

This... is flawless on every level. For serious, this is even BETTER than what I was expecting! Oh my goodness, shall I geek at you over the fact that I adore Greek myths and that the one this seems to be based on is up there on my top-faves list and asdfghjkl;

But really, the death scene? That one is one I have to mention specifically because oh God, that one line, "They sink like stones." All of that scene, really, but especially that line. It's so simple, but it's so unbelievably powerful.

And the relationships here! I could feel the closeness between the sculptor and his creation, and it was done so carefully too. It was beautiful to watch her devote herself to him as his apprentice, and it was just as beautiful to see him treat her as an equal. That kind of relationship just seriously melts my heart all over the place. It's, in my opinion, just one of the best kinds of relationships possible.

And that conversation at the end! After the death scene, it brought on so many warm and fuzzies. So many. It's so clear that those two are good friends, and on top of that, I had to crack a smile at the fact that Lanette solved the problem with the system before Bill and how she followed up with that surprise. It really brought the whole story full circle in a way, almost like the statue basically graduated from the sculptor's apprentice and equal to a little bit of his teacher too. ;D That and that last line? So very heartwarming to see a bit of that past love bleed through.

Tl;dr, omg thank you, anon! Excuse me while I fangirl all over you. 8D
